FOUNDING PARTNERS

The Stuyvesant Heights Parents Association

The Stuyvesant Heights Parents Association is on a mission to make Bedford-Stuyvesant a friendlier place for families. In addition to supporting the development of the Brooklyn Brownstone School, our service to the neighborhood has included adopting the Fulton East Playground, creating local play spaces and opportunities for families to convene; and hosting an annual Halloween Haunted House Tour attended by hundreds. In addition our members have successfully brought much needed programming for young children to the area including Music for Aardvarks, Music Together, and story time at Brownstone Books.  Our efforts have been enhanced by partnerships with the Bedford YMCA, the Brownstoners of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Target Corporation and  Red Clay Arts.

The Brooklyn Children’s Museum

As the nation’s first museum for children, the Brooklyn Children's Museum(BCM) has a wonderful history of engaging children in in-depth study and exploration of our natural and physical environment.  BCM will complement our Science, Language Arts, Social Studies and Arts curriculum with traveling exhibits, resource kits, teacher guides and classroom visits.
