We are thrilled to introduce World Explorers, your new after-school program provider, to the vibrant community of The Brooklyn Brownstone School. Our program will offer an enriching and supportive environment for your children.
About World Explorers: World Explorers was founded in 2003 by Kisha Edwards-Gandsy and Keyanna Murrill, local teaching artists who were then studying at NYU. They worked to design the first curriculums, excursion itineraries, creative child-care services, and programs that evolved into their current offerings, including: after-school programs, early childhood services, summer camp, enrichment classes, birthday parties, and flexible drop-off childcare programs. More than 20 years later, the organization has grown to over 200 employees and has served 1,500 families across the city.
The foundation to their success stems from their dedication to:
building community in staff, families, and children they serve,
the whole child experience, including attention to healthy behaviors, access to STEAM, and an appreciation for literature, and art that reflects the child’s unique experience,
ensuring that their team is valued, has access to opportunities for growth, development, success, and are able to benefit from the success of our community, and
remaining leaders in creative educational programming.
PROGRAM DETAILS World Explorers operates on a trimester schedule (Fall: September-December, Winter: January-March, Spring: April-June).
Hours: School Dismissal to 6:00 pm Tuition Trimester & Installment Options: Tuition is billed in trimesters. There are installment payment options offered through Affirm and Afterpay. World Explorers also offers a flex monthly trimester installment plan for families whom Affirm or Afterpay are not a viable option. All payment options are interest-free. Tuition payment is due at enrollment.
Kindergarten - 5th Grade Students Full Time: 5 days a week
Fall Trimester: $1,680
Winter Trimester: $1,260
Spring Trimester: $1,260
Installment amounts: Installment payment amount is based upon the option families choose. Although your billing cycle may reflect a different amount depending upon your enrollment and installment selection, the program equates to a cost of $420 monthly (5 days a week, full year).
Part Time: There is also part-time enrollment (1-4 days a week). Tuition is prorated for part-time in direct proportion to the number of days a student is enrolled in the afterschool program.
Fall: $336 per day for the trimester (e.g. $336 for a child who only attends on Mondays; $672 for a child who attends on Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Winter: $252 per day for the trimester
Spring:$252 per day for the trimester
3K and Pre-K Students Full Time: 5 days a week
Fall Trimester: $1,780
Winter Trimester: $1,335
Spring Trimester: $1,335

Discounts & Scholarships
10% sibling discount (applied to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. enrolled student in a family)
50% discount for DOE teachers and support staff (cannot be combined with sibling discount)
Need-based scholarships to 10% of enrolled students (application process will be shared this summer)
Registration & Orientation
Registration will open on August 6th.
Registration support will be available during TBBS Community Day on Saturday, August 24, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Brooklyn Brownstone School.
