The Brooklyn Brownstone School was was founded by parents to provide a comprehensive educational experience for our children. We are constantly striving to improve and expand our offerings. Since returning from the pandemic, we've added Spanish foreign language and world heritage, dance, and afterschool soccer. We added new partners in the Katmint (Aster Initiative) to provide more after-school options, including childcare for PreK.
For the 2023-2024 school year we are excited to announce multiple major initiatives. Brooklyn Brownstone School is expanding to include an early childhood annex in the K025 building, 787 Lafayette Avenue. During the school year, we will break ground at our MacDonough St. site on a playground that will be transformative for our community. We are also excited for the new hydroponics lab that is being installed this summer! Please read the information below.

Brooklyn Brownstone School is launching an early childhood annex this fall, located at the K025 Lafayette Campus.
In the immediate future, we are enrolling additional PreK students to open at least one class for the 23-24 school year. Students and families at the Lafayette Campus will receive the same high quality education, enrichment, and afterschool opportunities as our MacDonough St. Campus. We will now have 54 PreK students, located at 2 sites that will have priority for our 75 kindergarten seats at our current location the following year.
We are excited for the potential this opportunity brings including increased accessibility to Bed-Stuy families.
We are breaking ground on a new playground in our school yard! This space was designed by the students and will include a track and field, outdoor classroom and painted games, "green" roof gazebo, playground equipment on a cushioned safety surface, new basketball courts, tables, benches, and over a dozen new trees!
We are the proud recipient of the NY Sun Works Hydroponics Lab Grant from Congresswoman Yvette Clarke. Starting this fall, we are re-imagining what sustainability science education can look like. With the Congresswoman's support, we’re fanning the flame of innovation and building a bright future for the young people of Brooklyn
