Enrollment is open to ALL New York City residents, preference is given to District 16 (Bedford-Stuyvesant) residents.

REGISTER

Families in PreK and Kindergarten who have accepted your offer and new 1st through 5th grade families, you have the choice of in-person registration for fully-vaccinated parents and virtual registration.
IN-PERSON REGISTRATION
In person registration will begin after Spring Break. We will email details to all families that received offers. ​
VIRTUAL REGISTRATION
Complete the Following Documents and Email Them to Us to Register Your Child

  1. Emergency Contact Card
  2. Home Language Identification Survey: 
    1. Pre-K Language Survey
    2. Kindergarten through 5th Language Survey
  3. Student Registration Email
  4. ​Housing Questionnaire
  5. Kindergarten New Admit Questionnaire
  6. Federal Ethnic Race Identification Form
  7. Photo of your child's birth certificate or passport
  8. Proof Immunizations
  9. Proof of Address (utility bills, pay-stubs, lease agree, etc.)


How to Fill Out Forms on Your Phone or Tablet
  1. Download the Adobe Fill & Sign: Easy PDF Doc & Form Filler app for Android(Open external link) or Apple(Open external link) devices.
  2. Fill out, sign, and send your form to our secretary, Mrs. Doreen VanCooten, dvancooten@schools.nyc.gov.

How to Fill Out Forms on Your Computer
  1. Download the form and save it to your computer.
  2. For the best experience, open the form using Adobe Reader. This software is available for free download at: get.adobe.com/reader(Open external link).
  3. Fill out, sign, and save the form. Tip: Rename the file to include the student's last name.
  4. Email the forms as attachments to our secretary, Mrs. Doreen VanCooten, dvancooten@schools.nyc.gov.

If you are not the parent and are attempting to complete these documents, please email us for an affidavit.

Apply online with MySchools. 
​Here's what to do:​​
  1. Learn about the application process. 
  2. ​Create your MySchools account! You'll use MySchools to explore your child’s elementary school options, save your favorite programs, and submit your application.
  3. Watch our video series (below) to learn how to find programs for your application and apply, as well as how to use MySchools.
  4. Visit our school through one of our Info. Sessions, continue exploring our website, an contact us with any questions at 16K628@schools.nyc.gov
  5. Apply to Brookyln Brownstone School (16K628). Be sure to put us as your first choice. Our seats fill quickly! You can apply one of two ways:
    1. Online with MySchools in English, Spanish, Chinese, Bengali, Russian, Arabic, Urdu, Haitian Creole, Korean, or French. 
    2. By phone at 718-935-2009. If you are applying by phone, interpretation services are available in more than 200 languages.
